Broncos place WR Pat Bryant on short-term IR with ankle injury

The emerging receiver suffered the ankle injury in Sunday's win over the 49ers and will miss at least four games, with a targeted return as soon as Nov. 8

The Broncos are placing emerging wide receiver Pat Bryant on short-term injured reserve with the ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Bryant will miss the next four games and can return as soon as the team's Nov. 8 matchup against the Panthers. That timeline aligns with the standard four-game minimum for a short-term IR stint, giving Denver a wideout back just past the midpoint of the season.

The move reshuffles Denver's receiving rotation for at least the next month. Bryant had been carving out a growing role in the offense, and his absence opens more targets for the rest of the pass-catching group while he rehabs. Sean Payton's staff will now need the complementary receivers to absorb his snaps over the next four weeks before Bryant becomes eligible to return.
