Chase, Higgins on track for Bengals' opener; Shemar Stewart still uncertain

Zac Taylor expects Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to be on the field when the Bengals open against the Buccaneers, while defensive end Shemar Stewart remains a question with the knee injury that has slowed him

Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are on track to play in the Bengals' opener against the Buccaneers, Zac Taylor said Wednesday.

Chase is working back from a hyperextended knee and Higgins from a heel injury; both returned to practice Monday after sitting out much of last week, and Taylor indicated Wednesday the pace has been encouraging as the team releases its official injury designations later in the week.

Stewart, who is dealing with a knee injury, is a possibility for the opener, but Taylor said the team will wait to see where he stands later in the week before making a call.
