While most teams have expanded their captain groups this season, the Titans are going the other way. Tennessee announced Wednesday that it will carry three captains for 2026: quarterback Cam Ward on offense, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons on defense and long snapper Morgan Cox on special teams.
All three were also captains in 2025, with Simmons earning the honor for the sixth straight year and Cox running his streak to four in a row. Across the league this week, teams have trended toward more players wearing the "C" — the old-school approach makes Tennessee's small circle a notable exception.
The trio will lead the Titans into Sunday's home opener against the Jets at Nissan Stadium.
