The Titans have added a running back to their roster for Sunday's game against the Giants, elevating Michael Carter from the practice squad with Tyjae Spears questionable due to an ankle injury.
Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo): With Tyjae Spears questionable, the #Titans have elevated RB Michael Carter from the practice squad for tomorrow's game. One of many former #Giants and #Jets players returning to MetLife Stadium. Heavy ground attack expected on both sides in bad weather.
Carter signed with the Titans in April and returned to the practice squad after being released during final cuts. He's familiar with the venue — he was a 2021 fourth-round pick of the Jets, who share MetLife Stadium with the Giants.
Tony Pollard was also on the injury report with an ankle issue this week but carries no injury designation, so he's expected to play. The Titans also signed defensive back Erick Hallett to the 53-man roster, waiving linebacker Owen Pappoe in a corresponding move.
With a nor'easter expected to bring rain and wind to the New Jersey area, a heavy ground attack is anticipated on both sides. Carter's addition gives Tennessee depth behind Pollard and Spears as the Titans look to avoid an 0-3 start.
