Texans nursing a cluster of camp injuries across offense and defense
Houston listed a lengthy group of players not practicing, spanning receivers, defensive backs, tight ends and running backs.
The Texans were without a sizable group of players as they took the field Sunday, a reminder of the injury accumulation that builds during camp.
Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL): #Texans not practicing Sunday: Tank Dell, Jaylin Noel (pinkie finger, hamstring), Ja'Marcus Ingram (shoulder), Collin Wright (strain, soft tissue, day to day), Jake Hansen (ankle), Brevin Jordan (knee), Jawhar Jordan (strained hip flexor), British Brooks (broken hand) @KPRC2
Aaron Wilson reported the Texans not practicing included Tank Dell, Jaylin Noel (pinkie finger, hamstring), Ja'Marcus Ingram (shoulder), Collin Wright (soft-tissue strain, day to day), Jake Hansen (ankle), Brevin Jordan (knee), Jawhar Jordan (strained hip flexor) and British Brooks (broken hand). The list touches both sides of the ball and several position groups.
Most concerning for the offense are the skill-position names: Dell and the Jordan duo of Brevin and Jawhar, plus rookie receiver Jaylin Noel's dual ailment. With quarterback Graham Mertz already done for the year with a torn ACL and Brett Rypien signed to help, Houston can ill afford further attrition at the skill spots. The day-to-day designations suggest most are not long-term, but the volume is worth tracking.
