General manager John Schneider confirmed the plan publicly, telling Tacoma News Tribune reporter Gregg Bell that the organization loves having Diggs around and simply needs more time for him to acclimate after his recent arrival. PFT reported Schneider said the players, coaches and staff love Diggs and that he needs more time to get up to speed.
Diggs, a second-round pick of the Cowboys in 2020 and a two-time Pro Bowler in Dallas, joined Seattle only recently, and the timing of his addition left him playing catch-up during the final stretch of roster construction. Rather than carry him on the initial 53, the Seahawks opted to stash him on the practice squad — a common maneuver for veterans who land with a new team late in the offseason. For now, he remains a Charger-adjacent name no longer, but a Seahawk in waiting.
