Ravens place center Danny Pinter on season-ending IR, sign LB Michael Barrett

The Baltimore Ravens' center depth took a hit Wednesday, as first-team pivot Danny Pinter was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury that ends his 2026 season.

Pinter originally went down last week in joint practices against the Vikings, and despite hope that the issue might be manageable, the organization has now ruled him out for the year. The move is a significant one for a Ravens line that had leaned on Pinter as its top center through camp.

To fill the opened roster spot, Baltimore signed inside linebacker Michael Barrett, who played under defensive coordinator Jesse Minter at Michigan. Barrett brings special-teams value and linebacker depth to a defense undergoing a transition under Minter.

The Ravens had already braced for the worst on Pinter: Minter had indicated the injury was trending toward season-ending before the official designation landed. Beat reporter Jamison Hensley confirmed the team placed Pinter (knee) on IR, formally ending his season, while Jeff Zrebiec noted the corresponding Barrett addition.

Baltimore will now turn to its next option at center as it reshapes the interior of the offensive line heading into Week 1.
