Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez remains sidelined, missing Saturday's practice with the same undisclosed injury that kept him out of Tuesday's workout and Thursday's preseason opener.
Head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters before Saturday's session that Gonzalez is not ready to return, repeating the "physically unavailable" designation he used during the week. Gonzalez had participated in practice all summer while seeking a contract extension, and some have wondered whether the absence is tied to that impasse — though Vrabel has cited only the injury.
Vrabel also announced that reserve offensive lineman Ben Brown will miss the rest of the preseason with an injury suffered in Thursday's game.
