Packers defensive tackle Warren Brinson is set to miss a significant amount of time after injuring his groin in a non-contact slip at the start of Wednesday's practice, head coach Matt LaFleur said.
Matt Schneidman (@mattschneidman): Matt LaFleur said Warren Brinson slipped and injured his groin on Wednesday at the start of practice. He's going to be out a while.
"Unfortunately, I think he's going to miss a significant amount of time. All he did is slip, and injuries occur," LaFleur said, per the Packers beat. The groin issue is a new injury, separate from the calf problem that kept Brinson out of the first three games of the season.
Brinson had just returned to practice Wednesday before the setback, and he did not practice Thursday. The loss is a notable one for a Green Bay defensive line that has already been managing injuries up front.
The Packers will have to lean on their remaining interior depth while Brinson is sidelined, with the timeline for his return still unclear as the team evaluates the injury.
