The Packers' offense absorbed a painful double blow in the first half. Green Bay has ruled out wide receiver Jayden Reed (neck) and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele (knee).
Reed had to be removed from the field for safety with a spine board after what looks like a head/neck injury Reed is the Packers' most dynamic receiver, the player who stretches defenses and opens the middle of the field, so losing him is a significant hit to the passing game. Bako-Bewele's absence reshuffles the offensive line, forcing Green Bay to protect its quarterback with a backup at right tackle for the rest of the afternoon.
The timing compounds the problem. Losing two starters on back-to-back snaps is the kind of sequence that can swing a game, and it leaves the Packers' play-calling with fewer options against a Jets defense that will now key on the remaining weapons. Green Bay will lean on its depth at both spots while the medical staff evaluates the severity of each injury for the weeks ahead.
