Packers rookie CB Brandon Cisse expects to miss minimal time after knee scare

Second-round pick Brandon Cisse left Friday's preseason game with a knee issue but told reporters he believes he could have returned, and the Packers are not bracing for a significant absence.

The Green Bay Packers got a brief scare Friday night when rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse exited the preseason game at Denver after his knee was evaluated on the sideline. The early indication, however, is that the concern is minor and the second-round pick does not expect to miss much time.

Cisse, the Packers' second-round selection, logged just six defensive snaps and two on special teams before the check. He told reporters on site that he believed he could have gone back in, which points to a precautionary exit rather than a serious injury. Green Bay has little reason to push a top draft pick in the exhibition slate with the regular season approaching, so the club is likely to be cautious with his workload even if the issue proves minor. No imaging or extended absence has been signaled, and for now the expectation is that Cisse resumes practice in short order.
