Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate): The #Lions had G Will Hernandez and G Laken Tomlinson, their 2015 1st-round pick, in for workouts today.
The visit is a notable one given Tomlinson's history with the franchise: he was Detroit's first-round pick back in 2015. The Lions are scanning the interior-line market for depth and competition, and both names carry meaningful NFL starting experience.
Detroit has invested heavily in rebuilding its offensive line this offseason, and bringing in established guards for a free-agent look fits a pattern of kicking the tires on proven commodities without committing until the staff sees them up close. Whether either player lands on the roster remains to be seen, but the Lions are clearly not done evaluating the position.
