Nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat, removed from the non-football injury list a day earlier, made his debut on the practice field, ESPN's Rich Cimini reported. Sweat had passed his physical after a hamstring issue and will work his way back slowly, with the team evaluating him at the end of the week. He is a key piece for the Jets' run defense.
Separately, edge rusher Joseph Ossai is set to be taken off the PUP list and could practice next week after beginning his return to the field. Ossai won't practice immediately but can start working his way back. Both returns bolster a defensive line the Jets are counting on to take a step forward this season.
