Odell Beckham Jr. is back with the Giants — and this time, he's made the team. The veteran wide receiver has officially secured a spot on New York's initial 53-man roster, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN, capping a comeback to the franchise where his career began after a full year out of the league.

Updated note: The Giants released Jalin Hyatt so Beckham's former jersey number #13 is now available again.

Head coach John Harbaugh wanted Beckham to earn the roster spot rather than have it handed to him, and by all accounts the receiver did exactly that. Raanan notes Beckham proved this summer he could still get open and stay healthy, never missing a practice after his year away, and that Harbaugh pushed him to win the job:

Beckham, 33, returns to the organization that drafted him ninth overall in 2014 and where he won Offensive Rookie of the Year before three Pro Bowl seasons. His path back has been anything but linear — stops in Cleveland, Los Angeles and Baltimore followed his Giants exit, and a 2025 away from football raised questions about whether he'd play again. Making the 53 is a notable milestone, but it is also just the start: on a Giants receiver room still sorting out its pecking order, a healthy, motivated Beckham gives New York a proven veteran and a compelling storyline as the regular season opens.
