Elandon Roberts returns to Steelers on one-year deal
Veteran linebacker Elandon Roberts is reuniting with Pittsburgh, per Adam Schefter.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing back a familiar face in the middle of their defense. Veteran linebacker Elandon Roberts reached agreement with the club Wednesday on a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Roberts spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons in Pittsburgh, carving out a role as a physical, downhill linebacker in the Steelers' front seven. His return gives defensive coordinator Teryl Austin another experienced body to rotate at inside linebacker.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): "Reunion: veteran linebacker Elandon Roberts, who played in Pittsburgh during the 2023-2024 seasons, reached agreement today with the Steelers on a one-year deal, per source."
Roberts, who has also played for the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins during his career, provides depth and leadership to a linebacker room that values reliability. The one-year structure keeps the deal flexible for both sides.
Pittsburgh has prioritized veteran reinforcements on defense throughout the offseason, and Roberts fits the profile of the kind of assignment-sound defender the Steelers lean on. The team has not yet announced the move officially.
