The Philadelphia Eagles are placing Landon Dickerson on injured reserve, and their three-time Pro Bowl guard will be out at least a month as a result. Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer had the decision first, and Adam Schefter confirmed Monday that a knee injury will cost Dickerson the next four games at minimum.

The move ends a stretch in which Dickerson kept taking the field on a bad wheel. He had been playing through various ailments and struggled badly in the opener against the Commanders before the Eagles pulled the plug on Monday.
Dickerson addressed the decision himself on SportsRadio 94WIP, saying he got rolled up in practice a few weeks ago and that imaging taken Monday showed the best course of action was to shut it down, go on IR and heal up.
Up front, the Eagles now face a reconfiguration. McLane reported that Drew Kendall is next in line at guard, though he could move to center if Philadelphia reshuffles the interior — with Willie Lampkin also in the mix for reps. How the Eagles settle their offensive line will be one of the week's bigger storylines with Dickerson sidelined.
The IR stint continues an injury-plagued stretch for a player who said at the end of last season that he would need some time to decide on his future before ultimately returning to play. Now, instead of grinding through another ailment, Dickerson gets the month-plus to heal — and the Eagles get an early test of their line depth, needing their interior to hold up for at least the next four games.
