BREAKING: Dolphins RB De'Von Achane tears ACL, out for season

The Miami Dolphins have lost their top offensive weapon for the season. Star running back De'Von Achane suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and will miss the rest of the 2026 season.

The injury is a crushing blow to a Miami offense that has already struggled through a trying season. Achane signed a four-year, $64 million contract extension before the season, giving him long-term security, but that does little to ease the sting of losing him now.

With Achane out, the Dolphins' backfield falls to Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II, with Jarquez Hunter on the practice squad. The group now carries the load for an offense that leaned heavily on Achane's explosiveness as both a runner and a receiver out of the backfield.

Miami's season was already on shaky ground, and losing its most dynamic playmaker makes the road ahead significantly harder. The Dolphins will need the committee to step up as they try to keep their season alive without their featured back.
