The Miami Dolphins will be without defensive end Chop Robinson on Sunday when they face the 49ers in the Bay Area, after the pass rusher entered the NFL's concussion protocol during Wednesday's practice.
Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly): The #Dolphins will not have Chop Robinson available for Sunday's game against the 49ers because of a concussion he suffered during Wednesday's full padded practice.
Robinson was diagnosed with the concussion during Wednesday's session and remains in protocol; he was limited on Wednesday's injury report and did not practice Thursday. Miami stayed out West after its season-opening trip to Las Vegas and has been practicing in Napa, California, ahead of the matchup in Santa Clara.
The Dolphins will lean on Josh Uche, Clelin Ferrell, Rob Beal Jr. and Malik Herring to pressure Brock Purdy, with head coach Jeff Hafley describing it as a next-man-up situation. "We might do some other things to help out," Hafley told reporters, via ESPN. "But I have confidence in those guys. They've done a good job at practice this week, and it'll be the next man up."
Robinson, selected 21st overall in 2024, has 10 career sacks and recorded three pressures in Week 1. Two concussions in 2025 cost him two games last season, so the latest one carries an added layer of caution for both him and the team. Inside linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr. (hamstring) also will not play Sunday.
