Free-agent tight end Dae'Quan Wright is still waiting to learn whether the NFL will clear him to play this season after his bid to return to LSU fell through this week.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Free-agent TE Dae'Quan Wright still is waiting to hear from the NFL about whether he is eligible to play this season. He never signed with LSU nor joined its roster, and his agent Drew Rosenhaus said multiple teams are now interested in signing him. Wright also is considering his legal options.
Wright went undrafted out of Ole Miss and signed with the Browns before being waived last month, then was granted eligibility to return to the college ranks by a Baton Rouge judge. LSU ultimately filled out its roster with other players — the school had drawn threats from the SEC over pursuing players who spent time in the NFL this summer — closing that door.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN that multiple teams have shown interest in signing Wright if he is cleared to play in the league this year, and Wright is weighing his legal options in the wake of LSU's decision.
