Colts WR Keenan Allen arrested on DUI charges in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Colts' veteran passing-game addition is facing legal trouble before he has even taken a regular-season snap in blue and white. Wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning in downtown Indianapolis and is facing two misdemeanor DUI charges, according to police records and reporting from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Allen, 34, was taken into custody around 1 a.m. local time after officers observed signs of impairment near Meridian and Maryland streets, per Indianapolis television station WTHR. Online jail records show preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (.08 or higher) and OVWI endangering a person — both misdemeanors. The Colts, who signed Allen this offseason to pair with their young receivers, acknowledged the matter without further comment. "We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night," the team said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."

The arrest comes one day after Allen made his preseason debut in Indianapolis' 25-16 loss to the Lions, a tune-up that offered the first live look at the 12-year pro in a Colts uniform. He caught passes from the team's quarterbacks as Indianapolis evaluated its receiving depth behind the starter. Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler, joined the Colts after a 2025 season split between Chicago and elsewhere — the move was intended to stabilize a room hit hard by injuries a year ago.

The league has not announced any disciplinary action. Under the personal-conduct policy, a first-offense DUI that does not involve aggravating factors typically does not trigger an immediate suspension, but the NFL can step in once the legal process resolves. For now, Allen's availability for Week 1 remains unaffected unless the situation changes.
