The Chiefs have downgraded wide receiver Rashee Rice to doubtful for the rest of today's game against the Raiders due to a hamstring injury. Adam Schefter reported the downgrade, a notable loss for a Kansas City offense that counts on Rice as one of Patrick Mahomes' primary targets.

Rice's exit takes away a key piece of the Chiefs' passing attack in a closer-than-expected AFC West matchup. A doubtful designation is effectively one step removed from out, and teams typically do not bring a player back from it during the same contest. Kansas City will lean more heavily on its other receivers and tight ends for the remainder of the afternoon.

The bigger question now is whether the hamstring issue extends beyond today. Muscle injuries that force a player out of a divisional game tend to be monitored closely through the week, and Rice's status for Kansas City's next matchup will depend on how the injury responds over the coming days.
