Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. hired an agent late last month as trade speculation around him has mounted, and while the Cardinals are not shopping the former fourth-overall pick, teams around the league are open to the idea of acquiring him.
Josh Weinfuss (@joshweinfuss): News from myself and @HolderStephen: As trade rumors have swirled recently, Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. hired an agent late last month. And sources told ESPN that the Cardinals aren't shopping Harrison but teams are open to the idea of trading for the former 4th-overall pick. Earlier today, Harrison said he's not paying attention to any of the speculation incoming his time in Arizona coming to an end.
Harrison is still early in his career in Arizona yet has drawn outside interest. Among the teams keeping an eye on his situation is the Indianapolis Colts — the former home of Harrison's Hall of Fame father, Marvin Harrison Sr.
Harrison said earlier Thursday that he is not paying attention to the speculation about his time in Arizona coming to an end. After a standout rookie season, the young receiver remains a centerpiece of the Cardinals' attack, though the outside chatter has clearly followed him into the season's opening weeks.
For now, the Cardinals appear to hold the leverage — they have not shown a willingness to move him, and teams are merely gauging whether a deal could be pried loose. With the trade deadline still weeks away, the situation bears watching in Arizona's front office.
