Browns claim tight end Dae'Quan Wright off waivers from Eagles
Cleveland claims tight end Dae'Quan Wright off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles as it adds depth at the position.
The Cleveland Browns claimed tight end Dae'Quan Wright off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, adding another body to their tight end group. Wright had been with Philadelphia before being waived and will now get an opportunity with the Browns.
The move gives Cleveland additional depth and competition at a position that has been in flux during training camp. Wright joins a room where the Browns are looking to sort out roles behind their established options.
For Wright, the claim represents a fresh start with a new club looking to build out its 90-man roster ahead of the preseason. His ability to contribute as a blocker and receiver will determine how much of a role he earns.

The waiver claim is a low-cost way for the Browns to add a young player with upside. It remains to be seen how the tight end depth chart shakes out, but Wright now has a chance to prove himself in Cleveland's system.
