Broncos practice report: Mims, Wattenberg limited; Sanders, Bandy sidelined
Beyond Jaylen Waddle's return, Denver had a cluster of limited and sidelined players Monday, including LB Drew Sanders and an unclear outlook for LB Levelle Bailey.
The Denver Broncos held a no-pads practice Monday, and while the day's headline was Jaylen Waddle's return to full participation, a cluster of teammates were limited or held out.
Parker Gabriel (@ParkerJGabriel): #Broncos practice is wrapped. No pads today. WR Jaylen Waddle returned and was involved throughout. WR Marvin Mims was on the side field during team. C Alex Forsyth was back. Luke Wattenberg on the side field for team.
Receiver Marvin Mims and center Luke Wattenberg each worked on the side field during team drills, a reminder that Denver is managing depth at both spots. Center Alex Forsyth was back after his own absence, giving the interior line some relief. The bigger flags came on defense.
Parker Gabriel (@ParkerJGabriel): Drew Sanders and Michael Bandy also on the side field. Bandy has been out a few days. Sanders played Friday in Atlanta but was on the side field today.
Linebacker Drew Sanders, who had played in Friday's preseason game in Atlanta, was limited to the side field Monday, while receiver Michael Bandy — already out a few days — remained there as well. The uncertainty grew around linebacker Levelle Bailey.
Parker Gabriel (@ParkerJGabriel): #Broncos news and notes from Monday: Good injury news on Jaylen Waddle and others. "Too soon" to know if Levelle Bailey has a chance to play this year. High praise for Jonah Coleman
Beat writer Parker Gabriel reported it is "too soon" to know whether Bailey will get a chance to play at all this year. With the preseason schedule rolling and cut-down day approaching, Denver's injury and depth charts are worth watching on both sides of the ball.
