Jets' Breece Hall to miss 2-3 weeks, but Aaron Glenn expects him for Week 1

Head coach Aaron Glenn said RB Breece Hall will be sidelined a few weeks with his midsection injury but should be ready for the regular-season opener against Tennessee.

New York Jets running back Breece Hall is dealing with a midsection injury that will keep him off the field for the next two to three weeks, but the team does not expect it to cost him the start of the regular season.

Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Hall will be out 2-3 weeks but should be ready for the Sept. 13 opener against the Titans in Tennessee. Hall left Monday's practice with trainers after appearing to suffer an apparent injury to his midsection, prompting immediate concern about a backfield already thin on proven depth. The Jets open the year against a Tennessee defense that will test any rushing attack, so having Hall — their lead back and most explosive weapon — available matters. New York has leaned on Hall as the centerpiece of its offense since he returned from his 2022 ACL tear, and Glenn's timeline suggests the club is being cautious in August rather than sounding an alarm. For now, the Jets will manage reps in practice and circle Week 1 as the target for his return.
