The San Francisco 49ers will be without running back Isaac Guerendo for the first month of the 2026 season. Guerendo is being moved to the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list as he continues to recover from a pectoral injury, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, ruling him out for the opening four games.

Guerendo, a 2024 third-round pick, was expected to contribute in a backfield that has dealt with depth questions all offseason. A pec issue that kept him from practicing into cutdown week now forces the 49ers to open the year without him, and the reserve/PUP designation means he cannot return until at least Week 5. The move trims an already-thin group of healthy runners for Kyle Shanahan's offense as the regular season approaches.
